Kay Chun, food editor at the prestigious Bon Appetit magazine, spent the last weekend at our Signature Hotel.

On October 6, we were very pleased to welcome Kay Chun at Eguren Ugarte. She came along with Ana Intxausti, tourist guide from Basquetour, promoter and organiser of the trip. They arrived on saturday afternoon and, after some spare time, visited the facilities of our winery and hotel.

Before dinner, Kay got to meet Noela Torres, gastronomy manager at Eguren Ugarte. Koldo Eguren, our managing director, and Sandra Aulló, commercial manager of the winery, accompanied Kay and Ana in a dinner composed by the following tasting menu:

Cockles chocolates and citrus and rosemary air
Mini-garden tomatoes with Royal oil emulsion
Smoked salmon millefeuille, Idiazabal cheese and apple
Rioja-style potatoes Foam
Smokes sardine on green peppers and “perretxikos” foam
“Pil-pil” cod on “piperrada”
Braised cheek with cauliflower
Grape bavaroise with cheese an pistachio ice cream

Kay Chun enjoyed the whole menu, having a great time specially with the dessert.

Kay is food editor at Bon Appetit magazine, the american publication that celebrates the world of great food and the pleasure of sharing it with others.
